SUMAK

 Sumak is a unique dining experience – unlike anything else you will taste/find in this corner of Turkey.  Here's why we're different:

• Menus change weekly – making the best of what is in season and ensuring you're never bored with what's on offer

• You reserve a table and order in advance – this ensures the kitchen has no waste and is as environmentally friendly as can be

• The location is unique, a traditional village stone building in the heart of the mountain village of Uzumlu (just a few minutes drive from the ancient ruins of Cadianda)

• The experience is intimate. Our dining room holds 16 people at capacity. So the attention on you, and the food, is absolute

• Like our food, we're the perfect blend of different cultures – Sumak is owned and run by an Anglo/Irish/Turkish family

 

Because we want you to have an incredible dining experience, whilst the menus change weekly, we also always accommodate any food allergies customers may have or any specific dietary requests.  And if you find there is a Sumak dish you just want to eat over and over again, let me know and we'll do our best to weave it in to that week's menu!

 

The village of Uzumlu is beautiful.  Spend some time wandering around and you'll see the women of the village still working at their looms, weaving cloth the way it has been done for decades if not centuries.  If you're feeling more energetic then there's nothing better to work up an appetite than a late afternoon walk around the ruins of Cadianda, where you'll likely be the only people visiting. And for those wishing to escape the heat of the summer, Uzumlu is a good few degrees cooler than the coast.
